Abstract
What are your imaginations about using information technology as a tool to make lives better? In this presentation, I would like to share some international use cases of digital development, and my experience and interest in East Africa and social issues. Let’s think about how to use information technology to solve poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, healthcare, and global slavery problems together!
About me
Lived in East Africa for 3 years, Chiwen is enthusiastic about combining her expertise in technology and business and her passion in social issues. She was an individual consultant helping investors to setup companies and initiating nonprofit projects in Kenya and Tanzania. Prior to that, she was a senior application innovation consultant in IBM, Taiwan and a cofounder of Taiwan Africa International Service Association, a volunteering institution partnering with NTHU and FJCU to provide IT and health education. She received her BS and MS degree in Computer Science and Information Technology in National Taiwan University and started her career as a research assistant in Academia Sinica.
