Abstract
For years, Design Research (DR) has been played a strategic role in between academic and practice in HCI field. Design researchers intend to apply modern science mindset to develop design tools through define (design thinking), implement (Research-through Design), and evaluation (Usability Test), however, these methods are less impact in designing real experience/world. Designing (almost anything) with users is not a straightforward mind, but also a mixed concept in design, engineering, and culture. In this talk, I will present my recent journey in both academic and practice domain, including personal observations in designing macro-interactions for social impact, as well as the startup for the next generation.
All faculties and students are welcome to join.
