Bio:
Dr. Wan Mingyu, Clara, received her PhD from the department of Linguistics and Translation at City University of Hong Kong in 2017, with her PhD thesis on “The Application of Fine-grained Syntactic Features to Automatic Genre Classification”. For MSc and BA, she studied Electronics Engineering at Peking University and Beijing Normal University. The many years’ study and research experience on interdisciplinary subjects has rendered her a wide range of research interest, including computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, and natural language processing. Since October 2017, she has been working as the senior research assistant of Prof. Liu to construct and augment the Mandarin VerbNet – the verbal semantic lexicon of Chinese verbs.
