Abstract

To achieve Industry 4.0, the fourth Industrial Revolution in the manufacturing sector, merging the cyber and physical worlds, time-sensitive networking (TSN) was developed to enable deterministic communication on standard Ethernet for industrial applications. First, this talk will present the TSN's history, motivation, and standard overview. Then we will discuss the challenge of the TSN in terms of scheduling, routing, and reliability, as well as its cooperation with wireless networking.
