Abstract

AI plays a critical role in robots' decision-making. Therefore, the insights from AI research will have something in common with the field of decision-making for humans. We will address the perspectives by applying insights from AI research to decision-making.

Bio.

Yu-Hsun Lin is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Hsinchu, Taiwan (R.O.C.). He received the New Faculty Research Award at NTHU in 2025. He also supervised the student team that won the 1st Place in the National Intelligent Manufacturing and Big Data Analytics Contest in 2021. Dr. Lin received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan (R.O.C.), in 2006. He received an M.S. degree in the Department of Computer Science from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Hsinchu, Taiwan (R.O.C.), in 2008. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia (GINM) in National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan (R.O.C.), in 2014. From February 2013 to August 2013, he was a visiting scholar with Aizawa-Yamasaki Lab, Dept. of EEICE, Tokyo University. His research mainly focuses on computational intelligence (e.g., AI, deep learning, Internet of Things, and multimedia applications).
