Abstract: The unique feature distinguishing digital games from other “traditional media” is its interactivity. This talk will talk about the current understanding of media interactivity in digital games, and discuss its impact on users’ subsequent emotions elicited by interactivity. Two studies will examine this issue by comparing digital game playing with other modes and test a moderated mediation model of identification. In addition, other applications and related theories explaining the effect of digital games on exercise will be covered in this talk.
