Abstract

The Information and Communications Research Division (ICL) of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) plays a leading role in advancing Taiwan’s cybersecurity innovation. Our current research focuses on cyber attack and defense technologies, aiming to strengthen the resilience of digital systems in the era of AI and intelligent automation. The division integrates expertise across AI security, network defense, post-quantum cryptography, and red-teaming simulation to develop practical solutions for both government and industry. Ongoing projects include the development of automated penetration testing platforms, AI model robustness evaluation, and cyber-resilience frameworks for critical infrastructure such as 5G, IoT, and robotics. Through close collaboration with international partners—including NIST, SCC, and major global tech companies—ITRI continues to align with emerging global standards and contribute to next-generation security ecosystems. By combining advanced research, real-world testing, and policy support, our goal is to cultivate cybersecurity talent and empower Taiwan’s industries to build trustworthy, intelligent, and secure digital systems.
