Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss do’s and don’ts for graduate students based on my teaching experience in the US, Canada, and Taiwan. This talk will cover topics ranging from appropriate manner for correspondence, choosing a lab, advisor or research topic and survival skills in graduate school in general. At the end of the talk, students will also be given a chance to discuss “Ten Commandments for Professors”. It is my sincere hope that this talk will boost the mutual understanding between advisers and advisees, creating an even more effective research environment.
